watching the inaugural coverage a little while ago, i could not help but notice the tens of thousands of heads assembled on this chilly winter day and wonder how many knitted hats there must be.

I was looking at all the scarfs! Same idea!
Hey Kate! I was there and i was wearing two hats - one cashmere and one wool - on my head. Not to mention my handknit scarf and mittens. I saw lots of handknit looking scarves. It was incredible.
