I have no emotion about woot. I do begin to feel a little crazy when I see the word "gift" used as a verb. I know it's commonly used this way, but what's wrong with "give" - as in, I'll GIVE this GIFT to someone. iTunes let's you "gift" a song -- so I just WON'T!
It's gratifying to see the folks at Merriam-Webster have chosen a word that has woven its way deep into our lexicon and will be with us for decades more to come. A lot of times they'll just pick some dumbass word to get publicity and remind people that dictionaries are still being produced.
I hate words that use numbers in them. It's people who want to seems like, I don't know, like "I'm so into computers and stuff that I have to use acronyms to type faster because I am beyond you normal people with my internet skillz {they would use a 'z'}and words with numbers in them because it makes me so fucking original!" Ok, sorry, I really hate that.

Not remotely. I hate all those twatty acronyms. Not as much as I despise people who say (SAY!?) 'LOL'. Ferchrissake.
woot is for lamos.

I think it's pretty funny :) Especially when said as a joke out loud :)

End of unsolicited rant.
I'm pretty ok with "woot," when it's used like "whoot." If I had linked to an article about "ginormous," that would have roused my hatred.
Yes, I hate it too. I believe that it actually falls into onomatopoeia - ledss wors and more sound effect.

This post is a bit old now... but i had to chime in on this one.
i detest "w00t"!! it makes me cringe when i am having a nice conversation with someone online and they deal that card!
UGH!
And for the record... "LOL" bugs me too. I type " HA HA"... which i am sure annoys someone out there!
w00t is so 2006, isn't it? Though I have to admit, I never knew it meant anything other than "yea!". I'm so hip.
