ferragamo decoded

thanks to PnP for the tip to check out my obsession, decoded. to be sure, it's a great knock-off (despite its lack of curlicue fringe--the detail that makes the bag for me) and even comes with its own bamboo handles. at 72 smackers, it's a steal compared to the orig. still, i'm determined to muddle through this one on my own. so, i'm off to the yarn store to snag a book i saw there last time on counterpane scallops. as for the yarn, i'm thinking it needs to be something fairly stiff...cotton rope or linen rope...or maybe even something with a touch of raffia. any suggestions from you fiberphiles out there?

Hi, I found your blog because I, too, am obsessed with recreating that bag. I think that I can do it -- I'll let you know if I figure it out.

i saw jute yarn at school products recently, and that seems like it would be perfect if you're looking for something stiffer. but linen would be a good choice too. good luck!

Hi, I am knitting this one and it does have the curlicues, they've not been attached in the photo. Thanks for showing me yet ANOTHER great Ferragamo bag. My head may just explode!
