my friend michelle wore this adorable creamy white earflap hat skiing a couple of weeks ago. she had knit it from be sweet slubby ball and some other be sweet chunky yarn...i forget the name. the hat looked so dang cute i knew i had to make one for myself. after a bit of stash-diving, i came up with this special ball of yarn that's been waiting for just the right project. it's "melisse" from the amazing handspun whiz laine zin-zin. i found the perfect pattern in joelle hoeverson's last-minute knitted gifts. taking a cue from michelle, i made a couple of twisted cord tassels to hang off the earflaps. i also added a big pom-pom on top from a gorgeous ball of be sweet slubby in mauve that's also been languishing in my stash. can't wait to test-drive it on the slopes tomorrow.
It's super! Nice skiiing!
