Car knitting!

Driving home from NYC, what could be better than an easy breezy summer knit? I can hardly wait to finish this VK ruffle cardi.

4 random cheap thrills i love right now

1. minty-fresh summer legs! found it in between the power bars and the herbal tea in wegmans' organic section. about $2.50.

2. just read about this in allure mag. they claimed it was the best blowdry prep ever. guess what: they just might be right. a couple of foamy pumps of this stuff combed through wet hair turned my naturally frizzy mop into sleek goddess waves. found it in CVS, right next to the murray's pomade. under three bucks.

3. spotted this shade on an uber-cool shopgirl in the chloe handbag department at sak's. it just happened to match exactly a certain chloe handbag which is still slyly beckoning to my empty wallet. perfectly sky-blue "shelter island" will have to do for now. brush a layer of basecoat over the top for a decidedly different matte look. about eight bucks.

this silky linen blend is pure eco-luxe. one part woodstock, one part catwalk, it blends a natural hand with a glam sheen. the perfect light, yet drapey fiber for VK's summery-chic ruffle cardigan.
about eight bucks.

stella in the sky...and more clouds in the forecast

how cute are these? i love the whimsical cartoon clouds against the denimy/chambray fabric. makes them look as sweet and snug as jammies. the cloud motif is actually part of stella's capsule collection for net-a-porter. it was created by sir peter blake, the pop artist who created the album art for sgt. pepper's lonely hearts club band. blake was reportedly paid just 200 pounds for the 1967 album art. hopefully, he'll make up some of it with this collection. in any case, these would be super summery with a long knitted tank and mini. but there i go again, planning an outfit feet first...

a breath of fresh air:
sometimes design does come from the ground up. knitlit reader mandy passed along this awesomeness from needled. seems that she, too, has both feet firmly planted in the ground...and her head in the clouds. or hands, as the case may be. the stitched cloud motif on this adorable hoodie is actually a clever patch pocket.
