hej amimono

just picked up this beautifully edited collection from danish designer helga isegar. the silhouettes are fashion-forward but decidedly understated. this is one of the first books i've picked up in a long time that got my heart racing. i could see the design above in floaty kidsilk haze. one of my friends told me a LYS carries isegar's yarn collection, but i haven't seen it. something tells me i will...and soon.

I just found out about this collection and promptly ordered the book as well! AND I found out that a LYS near Seattle will also be carrying the Isager yarn. I am dying to make that cape!

i realized recently that if i had to pick a favorite knitwear designer, it might be helga isegar. i don't know if i'd necessarily want to knit all of her designs, but i definitely want to wear them!

ooh--I saw these yarns and books in a yarn shop in Milwaukee. They're beautiful, but a little pricey. The shades are very sophisticated and subtle though.

I love it-- the designs in the book. In my stash is a maroon color for the peach colored button down ruched number. Caution - most are done with th yarn doubled. As for crack silk haze - everyone's addiciton - I a mohari scarf/shawl in an old garnet hill catalog recently in you new fav stitch Entrelac! It was stunning. I think this would look lovely in KSH billowy.

Moonbirdblue, I just received the most recent Churchmouse newsletter, and they announced that they will be carrying some of the Isager yarn starting this Spring. Not quite IN Seattle, but close enough! And who doesn't want to take a day trip out there anyway? :)
