glad you did something in honor...
I have only one token of this man's incredible work: an yves saint laurent high-waisted skirt that I found at a consignment store. While it's not a pant-suit, I can still look at it and think about the social movements that fashion can embody. He did after all call himself an "advocate for women." (And I def feel fierce in that skirt)

you found YSL at a consignment shop?? lucky! the one and only YSL i've ever owned is a suede "post-it" bag that came out a few years ago. it's the most i've ever plunked down on a bag and it's something i'll treasure always.

I did. It was amazing. I found it and literally turned into one of those crazy paranoid shoppers who think that someone's going to try and snatch their find. $75, too. (it's the skirt in the pictures of my Twinkle cropped top)...it's too tight, but who needs to breath when you're wearing YSL.

Congratulations Kate on being so thoughtful and honoring YSL. A very touching sight that red heart of yours. Besides being a fantastic designer he was a man of great culture and also a very charming gentleman. Truly a great loss. The only YSL I´m lucky to possess, a few bottles of perfume that cost about as much as Monica´s skirt -- that lucky girl ! Send the address of that store, will you Monica ?
