fringe benefits
pass the dramamine, please. it's 95 in the shade and all i can think about right now is all the dramatic knitwear that's been trotted out for fall. this fendi sheath is just one from the knit parade via style.com. i say crank up the AC and cast on the bulky wool!
come-sit-stay dept.: love the furry, fringe elements on this fendi dog...er, bag. what a loopy, fun knit this would be. does anyone know what this yarn could possibly be?

My sentiments are thine, dear sister. On this issue, the Pilgrim sits with thee!

I'm guessing Gedifra Gigante...but I've been wrong before...back in 1987...
Hi Kate,
I totally agree. It's 90 degrees here & I'm loving these chunky knits. Seeing a lot of full-length sleeveless vests.
Re the bag, you could try Brown Sheep's Burly Spun Sandy Dune. Then use a pattern to "Make Loops" and cut the Loops.

so cute, that fendi bag! does anyone know where i could find a purse clasp like that?
I am not sure that is yarn. The ends look so rounded that is could be tails of fur. You could try to do something with dyed roving or a big bulky burlyspun. It has a little more body than twinkle type yarns. check out these bags which are not fringy but have the dyed roving look artemisinc.com under kits.
janice, the best source i've found for purse notions is mjtrim.com..tho i think that particular style may be tough to find. i DO think the bag is knit from yarn as it was featured in a ny times article on knitting not too long ago. however, it would be gorgeous in a fur yarn!: )
I guess I'm behind the times because I just blogged about the same bag yesterday!
I'm kind of curious about knocking it off too. Maybe look for a purse in a thrift store to use as a base? Rowan big wool might be good for this too.
