my very first sweater design:
the fleur jacket
ta da! i am so excited...this is my first sweater design: the fleur jacket. inspired by mid-century fashion editor fleur cowles. rowan scottish tweed knit up in the aptly named dimple stitch creates a dense, textured fabric that feels light yet substantial. deep v-neck, single button closure and slightly cropped style make it an easy and stylish layering piece. what do you think??
i have to give a big shout-out to my friend lucinda, who showed me how to add, subtract, and listen to the yarn. she is living proof of this: give a woman a pattern and you feed her knitting passion for a day. teach her the basics of design and you feed her creativity forever! thanks, buddy.
sorry this pic is a little dark. snapped a quickie before heading to a meeting this morning. will post a better one soon.
inspired by fleur cowles and these wonderful images from flair magazine

I can't believe I actually witnessed you knitting this with your eyes closed!!
Love it all layered up like that. It's fabulous!!
Are you sure this is your first design?
Congrats on your first sweater design! It looks great on you. I'm intrigued by this dimple stitch of which you speak...
Your cardi is beautiful! When you describe it you make me want one too. Must be fantastic to have created a knitted garment your self! Congratulations.
i love it!
Oh, I LOVE It! Congratulations, Kate! The sleeves are especially awesome, and evocative of the fab Flair aesthetic. :)
Kate, this is fabulous! You are such an inspiration to me.
Dear Kate,
I'd like to receive Fake-a-gamo's Pattern in Portuguese.
Thanks
Simone
I love your pattern! The sleeve shape is really pretty. You're right-- it looks awesome layered.
Kate, I'm so proud! I love it. The real question is: when will the pattern be for sale!!???
very nice!!!! i can't wait to see it in person. Great design!!!
kate, it's gorgeous! i'm so happy you finished it, and that you got the miraculous matching dye lot yarn.
in other news- mind knitting isn't for everyone. you should come with a "don't try this at home" label. ;)
It looks wonderful - congratulations! I love it with the jeans and cute heels you've got on.
Beautiful work Kate.
Looks great! Congratulations on your first sweater design. Love the shoes, too!
Fleur would have loved it!
Absolutely fabulous! Super cute with the jeans and heels....a chance you'll share the design? ;)
Kate, it looks great! Will the pattern be available?
Perfect! Fantastic! Looks like you rock it, too.
kate....this sweater is wonderful!! and yes, when will the pattern become "available"??
Fantastic! Congratulations on soaring over the design hurdle--and soaring so gracefully, too.
this is a marvelous cardi. it really looks nice on, too. like others i'm curious about the 'dimple' stitch. never heard of that one!
I Luv It!!!!!!
this is the cuteness. I especially love the sleeves. Looks pretty complicated, I'm impressed!
so chic, like Fleur herself!
I love it and cross my fingers that you will make the pattern available to all the Fleur-wannabees out there!
Bravo!
Wow...love it!
So cute how you are wearing it!
I too want to wear a fleur!
Hi, Kate! Your Fleur sweater is amazing -- and it looks even better on you than it does just minding its own business. Viva la Rowan Scottish Tweed! : ))

It's beautiful Kate! And it looks fabulous on you!
You DO rock!

Yowsah! You are so inspiring me to keep trying on my first design. Me likey!
The sleeves are great and I am very intrigued by the dimple stitch. Now..... can I dare hope that the pattern will be for sale soon?
Great job!
Awesome!zt
Stunning! Well done!!
It is beautiful! Very chic.
Congratulations! It's a lovely piece. I'm at an impasse with the sleeves on a self-designed cardie of mine. Hmm, this might be inspiring.
