what's on your bookshelf?
i got inspired for this little show 'n' tell by amy's reading rainbow. i never really thought about what a weird little collection it is until i shot this. click to see larger view. my laptop faces this eye-level bookshelf, and i find myself gazing toward it all the time while i'm thinking about stuff. dewey decimals be damned, there's something oddly comforting about the disparate subject matter nestled together. i like the juxtaposition of maira kalman's chicken soup boots with the family of man...or tips for teens on top of rem koolhaas' mutations. i've never actually read the latter, but i like to look at the pictures.
stay tuned for the next episode: what's on your KNITTING bookshelf?

Fun!
That koolhaas book is such fun to look at. Ooh, it looks like you have a couple of fun etiquette books on your shelf too.
I have all of Maira Kalman's kids' books . . . Chicken Soup, Boots is a definite favorite.
One of my favorite things aside from readings books is how colorful they are. They can brighten a room. I can't wait to see whats on the knitting bookshelf!
I like how it is all just piled in there- along with pictures and other stuff... who needs organization.
Although, I have to admit i like to color code my books or but them in alpha order, done it since i was a little nerd with only my golden books and Dr. Suess to sort.. weird I know~
Can't wait to see the "knitting" section~
