instead of swatching like a mofo, as the ever-sanguine yahaira has suggested, i am apparently swatching like a moron. it's like i've forgotten how to knit. also, how to use my swift as evidenced in the hoopled-up ball of yarn below. today, i'll try again. knitting is exhausting. i mean fun.
another thought for today: is anyone knitting the oscars?

Thanks for the encouraging words on my blog! Actually, I thought my next project could be the F bag! I can see it in yellow and with dark brown handles! So keep up the good work of finding out how to do it!
sometimes if you put too much tension it makes a really tight ball, and the middle falls out kinda like thread barf when you use a sewing machine.Oh yeah, i'm knitting a tribute to Brokeback Mountain....guess what it is!!!!!!
The book I bought at Barnes and Noble, Beautiful Knitting Patterns, by Gisela somebody-or-another, has a very similar pattern (knitting into stitches below is the name of the category). I'll e-mail you, and I will send you a xerox of the page if you want.
