from cornelia tuttle hamilton's "transitions." the pattern says it takes just six skeins of araucania nature wool. that is the yarn i purchased. i have knit about two inches of the front and am almost through my first skein. hmmmm...i am dubious to say the least.

perhaps you are using the bulky?
i am knitting the skirt too. you must be using the bulky yarn, since it definitely gets through more than two inches, and that is knitting it in the round, too!
i just checked the yarn label and it is definitely not bulky. gauge is 4.5 sts to the inch on 5-7 u.s. size...but thanks for the thought!
