fo: clutch-a-gamo!

i've had the pieces for this little clutch done for at least a couple of years. finally acquired the perfect hardware from my genius bag-making friend andrea: a pair of hex frames with pretty brass pins on the corners. the final finishing touch will be a lining. will share pics of that soon.

i don't know what it is. the ponytails. the pearls. the tights. one part audrey hepburn. one part coco. with a soupcon of josephine baker thrown in for good measure. and yet, this is not so much a photo about looking back as it is about living in the moment. in any event, this sneak peek of vogue italia has it all going on. ciao bella!

i finished this much over the winter. but it was sans a lining...


...until now. voila and merci beaucoupi to cheryl for her mad sewing skillz. in addition to being an amazing knitter and felter, she has her own sewing biz. notice the pleated pocket and the waxed linen fabric, a leftover from one of her recent jobs. she whipped this baby up in about 10 minutes flat. and then it was up to yours truly to cobble it into place.


she made a similar lining for my original fake-a-gamo, which has been lining-less for over two years now. i'd love to show you a pic, but i dropped my camera last weekend, and it is showing no signs of life.

this was made with one of my last purchases from my beloved wild wools: 6 balls of twinkle cruise, color cranberry. i will think of that little shop every time i wear it!
