i have just been informed by my knitting friend lisa that june 11 is World Wide KIP Day. as she says, it is very important for me to be seen out and about, preferably knitting a thong.

just got back from a fantastico betty ride in skaneatelas, new york. basically a weekend of eating, shopping, drinking, spa treatments, and oh yes, a 30-mile bike ride thrown in just so we wouldn't feel too guilty about all the self-indulgence. i didn't bring my knitting, but we did pause to drool at the very adorable LYS, elegant needles. you can see a tiny glimpse of the bright pink shrug from spring/summer VK in the upper right-hand corner.

dig the free pattern, courtesy of my new favorite show that i cannot see, "knitty gritty." for some reason, directv does not carry the DIY network. and yet, i have absolutely no problem getting the show "face-eating tumor," on the discovery network. which brings me to another joy of knitting...when jim is clicking through the channels and happens to land on a show like "face-eating tumor," i am blissfully, ignorantly face-down in my knitting.
