the first sweater i've made in about two years. and this one felt like it took about that long.
then after i was finally done, i had a hell of a time finding nice zippers. what's up with every zipper feeling so cheesy?
i made the sleeves too long, per usual. i should have tried it on before i bound them off, but i didn't think of it until it was too late.

blocking & tackling
finally finising the zipper sweater from hollywood knits style. i ran out of brown yarn, so decided to make a hot pink stripe in one of the sleeves to make up for it. washed the whole thing in pantene pro V creme rinse to soften up the scratchy brown sheep fibers. feels pretty soft...but the real test will come when i can wear the damn thing.
then i had to try to find aluminum zippers. the ones in the book are orange with silver teeth. but fuggedabout finding one of those in rochester. the lady at my local sewing store was nice, but looked at me as if i had two heads when i asked if they had pink metal zippers.

booby call
chrissy's shower invitation said to bring a gift that she could use at her wedding in the caribbean. actually, i think chrissy and v.j. will both be able to use this present. but not for swimming.
a hat for carrie
carrie came over today sporting the rowan "big just got bigger" tassel hat i made her for christmas. looking very adorable, i might add. very jaunty. plus, doesn't her hair look gorgeous? the girl has NEVER colored it. ever.

tze goh
saw this in the inside cover of sak's holiday catalog and couldn't believe it. it's designed by a parsons design student named tze goh, based on sak's "snowflake" theme. the whole dress is basically a bunch of snowflake medallions...silk mohair...it's just a dream.

girls gone wild
while i can knit in front of the tube with the best of 'em, there's nothing like the comraderie of a good ol' stitch 'n' bitch with the girls. now that the holidays are over, it's getting to be time to set up another one. the plan for the next one is to either embellish the thongs gone wrong...or knit the victorian chokers.
